FACILITIES
The IMS campus at Lahore is a spacious and well-lit building having easy access and calm atmosphere conductive to the academic activities. The Campus is situated at the bank of a canal having cool and lush green eye pleasing site. The canal is used for seamanship training such as boating, sailing and other waterborne activities.
Seamanship Workshop
This lab plays vital role in practical seamanship training to prepare the cadets & crews to face challenging and thrilling environment at sea. The Seamanship workshop is highly equipped with latest marine apparatus. Workshop contains modern Life Rafts (25p and 8p), Nautical Compass, Life Jackets, Life Buoys, Survival Suits, Thermal Suits, Barometer, Clinometers, Wheel, Coden Global Positioning System and all Rigging equipment.

Furthermore the lab contains Advance Fire Fighting, First Aid and Navigational chart work facilities with all other training aid and accessories.

Computer Lab
A Computer Class in Session
IMS has a modern sizeable Computer Lab with latest Network technology. It has all trends in computer technology like (LAN) on NetWare environment, Pentium MMX workstations with latest operating system and seafarers CBTs software (VideoTel SETS).
Internet with E-mail and data communication facilities is available for use and training. Technically sound instructors assist in the Lab to provide good computer usage training to the cadets.

Library
Cadets have access to a wide range of primary sources of maritime information available, either in the library, or through its services. IMS has established procurement of substantial number of titles of many areas of Sea training. The library houses the latest collections in Navigation, Ship Stability, Construction, Cargo handling, Electronics, Marine Engineering, Seamanship, Computers, Information System, Communication, Meteorology, English, General Knowledge Literature etc. All notes of training literature is provided through the library to students and professionals.
IMS subscribes to leading Merchant Navy journals and professional publications for the reading desks. These include magazines, periodical, newsletters, bulletins and latest prominent national dailies are available daily every day. Furthermore it is fully equipped with all audio visual aids having Projectors, TV, Training Videos etc.
Accommodation
Affordable accommodation can be arranged in the precincts of the Institute for out of station trainees, where required.
Practical Engineering Training at the Wartsilla Facility
Wartsila (Lahore) facility is used for hands on practical work and the syllabus in accordance with STCW is taught at IMS.
Wartsila has excellent facilities for this purpose both at its training facility as well as at the power plants sites where they have maintenance contracts.
Karachi Campus
The Karachi campus is set up to facilitate those residing in Karachi or near about. It has a class room to accommodate up to 20 students, a computer lab to accommodate 10 students, a projector with screen and white board for delivering lectures, an array of maritime courses and instructional material on electronic media and a SETS examination program.
